Mad Men: Doublemint Don
City Without Walls, Newark's long-running art institution devoted to emerging artists, opened its season this week with two exhibitions devoted to new technologies in art: The first unveils a project of executive director Ben Goldman's to mainstream the purchase of digitalized art prints, and the second is the unveiling of the environment for a new video game designed by CWOW artist Heidi J. Bolsvert and six Newark high school students. The video allows you to virtually explore an American air base in Iraq. It's hard to imagine two shows that propose more radical changes in the way contemporary art products are distributed and used. Continue reading "Artfully geared for mass market" » .
Telegraph to fund history TV show
Telegraph Media Group is to co-fund a TV series that will run on the History Channel and marks the newspaper publisher's first move into ad-funded programming. The series, which has the working title 50 Things Every Citizen Should Know About, will be presented by TV historian and author Dan Snow. Telegraph Media Group, owner of the Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph and telegraph.co.uk, has signed an agreement with the History Channel to jointly fund the five-part series, which will air next year. It is understood that TMG has also secured digital rights for online use of the show, footage or clips through a service such as Telegraph TV. Each programme in the series will feature between eight and 12 events from British history - such as the construction of Stonehenge or the invention of the internet - with a total of 50 to be featured.

Impeach the veep?
Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, has more on his plate than a faltering presidential campaign. He plans to bring the I-word — impeachment — to the floor of the House of Representatives next week. On Friday he announced that he will bring articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney on Tuesday, in the form of a member's privileged resolution –which, under House rules, means that an up-or-down vote on impeachment could come to the House floor within two legislative days. In announcing his plan, Kucinich issued a statement that said, in part: "Vice President Cheney continues to violate the U.S. Constitution by insisting the power of the executive branch is supreme. "Congress must hold the Vice President accountable. The American people need to let Members of Congress know how they feel about this.
