| Pioneer SE-DIR800C Wireless Headphones Review
Whether playing a videogame or listening to a Blu-ray or HD-DVD movie, the headphones do a fantastic job of picking up highs and lows in the respective audio track. This is due in part to the Dolby Digital sound processing, but also to the headphones' noise-canceling construction. Unlike many wireless headphones that have a softer earpiece that "mushes" around the ear, the SE-DIR800C earpieces are ruggedly built and have a distinct cup that completely envelops the ear from the moment they're put on. As a result, the headphones block more background noise (a whirring computer, a dishwasher, etc.) than other surround-sound headphones we've tested or owned, which lends itself to a much more "private showing" feel. This personal-showing feeling is carried over to the audio itself, which with these headphones truly sounds as though you're sitting in a room surrounded by speakers -- not wearing headphones.
Democratic Presidential Candidates Debate for October 30
WILLIAMS: Philadelphia, the cradle of American democracy, where the founding fathers gathered to declare our nation's independence and to ring out that news on the Liberty Bell, still proudly displayed here. Philadelphia is also home to Drexel University, with a student body some 20,000 strong. Top majors here include business and engineering. But everybody rallies around the university mascot, Mario the Dragon. Drexel was founded by financier and philanthropist Anthony J. Drexel back in 1891, the very same year the ornate main building was dedicated. Tonight, in that building, Drexel continues Philadelphia's proud political tradition, playing host to the Democratic candidates for president, gathered here to debate as the race heats up and the early contests draw near. Democracy in action, tonight in this City of Brotherly Love.

Why can’t the English be more like the French?
Many British women are great beauties. Charlotte Rampling, Kristin Scott Thomas and Jane Birkin, for instance, although of course they live in France. But there may be a grain of truth in the old French joke: what do you call a beautiful woman in London? Answer: a tourist. Big faces, pear-shaped torsos with heavy low-slung bosoms . . . one could be cruel about the English physique. But to my practised eye there is nothing wrong with the raw material; it’s just that they don’t know how to showcase their charms. The British press takes great pleasure in women failing to look good. Whole pages are devoted to photographs of celebrities getting it wrong: heavy bosoms falling out of cocktail dresses, pixie boots, helmet hair, ill-judged accessories. In France we could never run such pages, even if we wanted to.
