Poll: SNP set to seize power at Holyrood

What Labour needs to do is ditch Tony for either Gordon or John, and point out that the Nats are not so cuddly and they are really controlled by kilted jacobites who hate the English.

The Liberals will be scuppered once it gets out they want to put an £850 road tax on the family car. The Trots have done themselves in. And the Greens will fizzle out when they announce their policies to ban mains electricity.

Map will guide art connoisseurs

While visiting here, you may consider picking up the second annual Historic Triangle Art Guide & Map.

The “Discover the Arts” map is a product of the Arts Marketing Task Force in cooperation with the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance. It highlights 52 of the area’s best visual and performing arts opportunities.

“That’s one a week,” said Kyra Cook, a local potter, Jamestown 2007 official and a member of the task force whose own studio is listed.

A majority built on faith

The days of honesty and integrity have long been over. The entire election process is nothing more than a formality for BullS. Wealth controls all. One day the people will finally wisen up and take a stand by whatever means is necessary. I do hope I should live long enough to see that day. But whatever. Bottom line is Bush still controls Canada in his indirect route. Heil Bush! Posted 11/10/07 at 7:01 AM EST | Link to Comment .

Wacky words you've never heard of

During his expeditions, Fawcett became interested in the legends of the people he encountered; tales of lost cities and of a white race which pre-dated the first Spanish conquerors.

These accounts sparked in me an interest in the anthropology, and prehistory of South and Central America.

In 1999 I was appointed director and then chairman of the Foyles book business. This presented one problem - easy access swelled the piles of books, and philavery-bound cuttings to almost unmanageable proportions.

This is an edited extract from Foyle's Philavery: A Treasury of Unusual Words, by Christopher Foyle, published by Chambers.

Abligurition - noun - extravagant expenditure on food and drink.

acarologist - noun - someone who studies mites and ticks.
